Recieved my site today, running water, electricity, no internet or other modern conveniences but otherwise a good site. Will visit it the end of this week and be deployed i think in half a month or so. Thus wil begin my 2 year deployment with the Peace Corps. In other news, saw my host dad shaving a raw pig head and ate pig ear as well as heart, lung and other parts in a sausage. no biggie bec chinese people eat the same. Holla my azns!!!!! lol. miss you all and all the conveniences of the states. in site i will have sig less ability to use internet but meh. i hope all of you are well.

Cancer or lemon stain?

so i developed this strange set of dark purplish marking on my hand and i had no idea what they were from. After about aweek of them not going away i proceeded to become somewhat concerned. could it be a fungus, burn or infection? it ddint hurt , itch or grow. Today the diagnosis was "have you been cutting lemon and been out in the sun?" Why yes i have been doing both of those things preparing juice and tea. "It is probably a stain from lemons then. It will go away with time..." Not a cool strange disease, bug or bite, lemons.... god damnit paraguay.

In other news, im still healthy, a little chivivi - guarani word for diarea, but other than that things are good, no parasites as far as i know, no sickness. i will likely move to a much more remote site soon so my internet access will be not that great. until next time.

Fresh Honey

so the other day my dad calls me out of the house and i ask why and he just waves me over. next to him is this bucket of half a bee hive with like 20 bees still chilling in it. He then proceeds to machete off a tiny piece and offers it to me. i proceed to put the whole thing into my mouth and it was delicious. All the while bees are climbing all over my dads hand but not stinging him probably due being smoked previously. the actual wax taste just like candle wax and it was awesome. Paraguay for the win.

Saturday

its finally another saturday which means like to chill and hang out with the other students. with class for like 7 hours every day it is a huge relief to not think about having class tomorrow. These days i go to class play soccer play volebol and do nothing. although a new development is watching batman, the cartoon on my tv with my younger brother at lunch time. its of course in spanish but good for my learning lol. Hmmm. its funny because i could tell you all about a tone of random stuff that occurs but none of it seems that important. I guess i will tell you how the schedule goes. Our first language evaluation will occur Tuesday in the form on an interview. I am not worried. We had our first interview with our health bosses to talk about what we want in our site. that was yesterday. I said i would be fine with anything and when asked about my preparedness for site "game on" was my response. It was well received. There will be approximately 1 month more of training before swearing in and deployment to site. Thats it for formal schedules. In other new ive been watching %$%& go down in the rest of the world via aljizira which i can watch in my family´s new satelite tv. we have one becuase one of the sons in the family is part of a band that is really famous in south america right now. Hes actually playing in Spain right now. As health students we have begun to learn how to do some manual tasks such as making cement latrine tops, planting gardens and trees, and digging trash pits. I look forward to these sessions. It looks like my first project will be helping someone in my community build a fagone which is like an outdoor brick stove that runs on firewood.

1 month in paraguay !!!!! YEAH!

1 month in, resigned to the bug bites and going strong. i still miss common conveniences at home but im good here as well.im starting to speak to everyone who happens to walk or be in front of me and i love it. im sure they are thinking what the hell is this asian guy doing randomly talking to me and in decent spanish. I think my spanish is getting quite good and i cant wait to test it agaisnt george and phillip´s. For those of yuo who asked questions it will be unlikely that i will have to build my own house but may have to help repare or improve a home. i hope to build a composting latrine bec they are awesome. i will also stay with a 2nd host family for another 3 months at least once in site.uh lets see oh the parguayan who works at this internet place was just playing counter strike lol. he says he loves the game. oh george, i cant figure out how to run the other movies on the external other than kung fu hustel which plays when i plug the external in and say play with windows media. if anyone can help me out thats great. i think i need a program like vlc which i dont have. uh lets see what else um, not much partying but we get to hang out at night on saturday nights which is fun and im getting to know the community more and more. ill try to write some stuff in my notebook for a more interesting entry next time. i miss you all especially you tian and bros but also the rest of my homies. PAZ!
